ELectric Mobility Promotion Scheme ( EMPS ) – is launced in india in march 2024.
The Ministry of Heavy Industries ( MHI ) is launched ( EMPS ) . in india
To boost the electric vehicles and to provide support for developing and manufacturing EVs in india.
The EMPS – 2024 will be implemented for four month from 1 April 2024 to 31 july 2024
It has a budget for of 500 crore and provides subsidies to EVs.
Subsidies up to Rs 10,000 for two wheeler EV
Subsidies up to Rs 25,000 for small three wheeler EV. and up to Rs 50,000 for large three wheeler EV.
MHI will reimburse the subsidies or demand incentives to the EV manufacturers upon the sale of EV
BENEFICTS
The consumers subsidy amount will be deducted from the final invoice price
The manufacturer must apply to the Ministry of Heavy Industries ( MHI)
To demand incentives, and registered by 31 july 2024 to receive subsides

Eligibility for the government of india EV subsidy
1 EVS must be registered under the central motor vehicles rules , 1989
2 Two – Wheeler EVs used for Commercial, Private or corporate purposes
3 Three – Wheeler EVs, e- carts,e – rickshaws, and L5 category EVs registered as commercial vehicles
4 EVs with advanced battery system
Timeline –
1 The EMPS – begins from 1 April 2024 – 31 July 2024
2 To receive subsidy , all EVs must be manufactured and registered with in 31 July 2024
